DIANA MARIE IORIO

Artistic Director

 

Ms. Iorio holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from Northern Illinois University, followed by post-Graduate studies in Köln, Germany. She is also a certified TEFL / TESOL Instructor with accreditation from NCFE and the British Council. Founder and Artistic Director as well as violin faculty of Luci Toscane Music and Cultural Arts Festival based in Siena, Italy.

Pupil of violinist/violist Pierre Menard of the Vermeer Quartet, American composer and violinist, William Kroll, and Eden Vaning. Masterclass performances with Madame Raya Garbousova, Pinchas Zukerman, Hiroko Yajima, Eugene Fodor, and Sergiu Luca.

Chamber music and orchestral performances have included Carnegie Hall and European venues. Concertmaster, soloist and member of Musicisti Americani (Rome, Italy). Soloist and violin principale ('05), violin faculty ('06), of Siena Music and Arts Program in collaboration with L'Universita' degli Studi with performances in Italy and Switzerland. Founding violinist and manager of the Solaia Chamber Ensemble. Program coordinator and Artistic Director of Luci Toscane Music & Cultural Arts Festival held in Siena, Italy and U.S. concert sites.

Orchestral posts have included: Elgin and Rockford Symphonies (violin 1); Illinois Chamber Symphony (violin 1 & 2); Phoenix Bach and Madrigal Society (violin 1); Former Concertmaster of the Kenosha Symphony and Asst. Concertmaster of the Arizona Opera Company.

Teaching posts have included: Carthage College and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. String program Founder and Director: Phoenix Country Day School (Phoenix, AZ) and St. Mary Catholic School (Kenosha, WI); Wisconsin School Music Association All-State Honors Orchestra Clinician. Music Director of the all-city youth orchestra, Sinfonia, under the auspices of the Lakeshore Youth Philharmonic Orchestras; Zion Conservatory of Music.

Current posts: Kenosha & Racine Public Schools orchestral clinician and string specialist; Founder and Artistic Director of Music in the Wood String Clinics; Kenosha Christian Life School adjunct instructor of violin, viola, orchestral clinician and Beginning Orchestra Director; Zion Conservatory of Music, violin faculty; L'archet String Studio (private).

Member: American String Teachers' Association, National String Orchestra Association (NSOA), Wisconsin String Teachers' Association (WSTA), Kenosha Music Teachers' Association, National Federation of Music Clubs (SFMC) with the Schubert Club of Kenosha, and the National Honor Music Society – Pi Kappa Lambda. Recipient of the Kenosha Unified School District Outstanding Service Award and the National Federation of Music Clubs’ Award of Merit in Music Outreach.
