Festival Repertoire and Audition Guidelines

Minimal requirements for festival entrance consideration: Registrants are required to submit a CD, DVD, or VHS tape with two contrasting pieces, demonstrating performance level utilizing the guidelines below. At least one of the listed selections is required; the second selection may be of the applicant's choice: One movement of a sonata, concerto, or concert piece at the level of the repertoire listed below. Note: Media will not be returned. For live audition and/or interview, please contact the festival office at lucitoscane@gmail.com

Recommended Repertroire

    VIOLIN

  • J.S. Bach - Sonata or Partita for Solo Violin
  • Mozart - Concerto No. 3, 4, or 5 (one mvt)
  • VIOLA

  • Telemann - Concerto in D Major (two contrasting mvts)
  • One mvt. from standard repertoire (solo viola or viola and piano) (Milhaud, Reger, Hindemith, etc...)
  • VIOLONCELLO

  • J.S. Bach - Six Suites for Solo Cello (one mvt)
  • One mvt. from a concerto or sonata from the standard cello repertoire.
  • CONTRABASS

  • J.S. Bach - one movement from any of the six solo suites.
  • One mvt. from a concerto from the standard bass repertoire. (Dittersdorf, Bottesini, Koussevitzky, etc...)
  • One mvt. from a Baroque sonata. (Vivaldi or Zimmerman collection: 7 Baroque Sonatas)
